چکیده

Active Queue Management (AQM) can potentially reduce packet loss rate in the Internet. This is used by routers for control congestion, where packets are dropped before queues become full. In this paper, comparative study has been done using NS2 simulator. By examine five different AQM techniques i.e. RED, RIO, SFB, SRR and BLUE the performance of network has been evaluated on the basis of three parameters i.e. Throughput(Quantity of Service), Delay(Quality of Service) and Packet Drop.

Performance Evaluation and Analysis of Multicast Routing Protocols in Wireless Mesh Networks

Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) is the multihop communication technology. Numerous internet based applications of WMNs are based on multicasting technology such as video conferencing, webcast, online distributed gaming etc. This technology especially arises for group communication. It provides high mobility to the network and reduces the chances of frequent failures. To support multicasting, vari...

Performance Evaluation of Aqm Algorithms for Pgm Based Group Communication in Dvmrp Multicasting Network

Queue management schemes at the routers and congestion avoidance schemes at the end points cooperate to provide good congestion solutions in computer networks. While queue management schemes are still being developed, research on congestion avoidance has come a long way to serve the bandwidth requirement of the networks. Because of considerable lack on the evaluation research work, there is no ...

Comparison and Analysis of Drop Tail and RED Queuing Methodology in PIM-DM Multicasting Network

The paper describes a Multicasting network using PIM-DM (Protocol Independent MulticastDense Mode) with two queuing algorithms Drop Tail and Random Early Detection (RED). A simulation environment is created in NS2 to analyse and contrast Drop Tail and RED for queue management on basis of drop out data packets in network. The experiment indicates better performance of RED by 13.7375% on the basi...

Performance Evaluation of DVMRP, ODMRP & PIM-DM Routing Protocol on the Basis of Quality of Service

Multicasting is intended for group-oriented communication services. One particularly challenging environment for multicast is a Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) where, the network topology can change randomly and rapidly, at unpredictable times. As a result, several specific multicast routing protocols for MANET have been proposed. Multicast approaches can generally be categories into two: proacti...

Ad hoc quality of service multicast routing

The conceptual shift in the expectations of the wireless users from voice towards multimedia, from availability towards acceptable quality, and from stand-alone towards group-oriented computing has a significant impact on today’s networks in terms of the need for mobility, quality of service (QoS) and multicasting. Ad hoc networks, being independent of any fixed infrastructure, can provide mobi...
